Buttered chicken thighs
Procedure
Mix salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika in a separate cup.
Dry chicken using paper towel and make a shallow cut next to the bone on each side. Generously oil each piece and place in the oven dish, skin side down. Spread half of the spice mix evenly on the meat alongside thyme twigs. Turn chicken thighs around so that skin is facing up and spread the other half of the spice mix.
Dice onion and evenly spread on top of the chicken.
Place a thin butter slice atop of each chicken piece. If using salted butter, make sure you used less salt in the spice mix.
Place into the preheated oven at 400 °F (205 °C) for 1 hour.
Turn oven up to broil for 5 minutes or until skin gets some color.
