Filled Mushrooms (Punjene gljive)
Clean mushrooms and remove stems. Oil mushrooms and place them into a well oiled pan. Add a dash of salt and pepper.
Finely chop stems and press them to remove excess water.
Into the oiled pan, add chopped onion and fry until softened. Add chopped stems and fry on low heat until water evaporates. Add salt, pepper, and butter. Leave on heat until butter has melted. Turn off heat and add breadcrumbs, ⅔ of grated cheese, and finely chopped garlic. Mix.
Preheat the oven to 175 °C (350 °F).
Put a bit of mixture into each mushroom cap. Add rest of cheese on top. Cover with aluminium foil. Bake for 45 minutes.
